What’s good? You know why. Larian has revived the love for classic party RPGs, so much so that now the whole world is playing them! The interest in the game hasn’t waned since its August release – the RPG has kept its place in the Steam charts, never dropping out of the top 10.

Who else could win? Unlike in recent years, 2023 is just swell for top games! My personal favourite is the insane in a good way Alan Wake 2, which I’m sure set a new trend in video game storytelling. It’s also divinely beautiful, even on consoles!

But there were other masterpieces that came out besides them. The sequel to the brilliant Breath of the Wild was praised all spring, as was the remake of Resident Evil 4, an updated version of one of the best action games ever. 2023 is so good that some of the top games just didn’t get a spot in awards season! But Starfield, Hogwarts Legacy and Jedi: Survivor still deserve your time, because they are marvellous projects made with heart.
