What’s good? The Japanese from FromSoftware have surprised again! After the most difficult game they made the easiest one: Elden Ring is successfully passed even by beginners, thanks to stealth and non-linear RPG structure. The artists showed a masterclass, and the script was written not only by Miyazaki, but also by George R. R. Martin, a recognised author of novels.

Who else could have won? Elden Ring took home 73% of the season’s awards, an all-time record in The Game Awards years. The excellent sequel God of War: Ragnarok suffered the most: in other years it could have won. The rest of the projects got only crumbs, and the nomination of Stray (a summer project about a cat) for Game of the Year indicates another weak period for the industry.
